Estimating your sermon download times.
The figures below are theoretical, and are meant for estimating
the possible download times of a file. There are many other factors which
determine the real download speed (such as the speed of the server/host you are
downloading from).
1500 Kbps = 187.5 KB/Second cable speed 1000 Kbps = 125.0 KB/Second cable speed
500 Kbps = 62.5 KB/Second DSL speed
250 Kbps = 31.25 KB/Second DSL Speed
56 Kbps = 7.0 KB/Second Dial-up speed
28 Kbps = 3.6 KB/Second Dial-up speed
MB = 1,000,000 Bytes
KBps = 1,000 Bytes
Kbps = 1,000 bits per second
So, to download a 10 MB (10,000 KB) sermon from our site using a 1500 Kbps cable modem
connection would take about 54 seconds. Here's the math 10,000,000 Bytes/187,500 Bytes per
second ~ 54 seconds. On the other end of the chart is 10,000,000 Bytes/3,600 Bytes per
second ~ 2,777 seconds or 47 minutes.
